Daniel Paul Gray in his corner between rounds of a professional fight

Daniel Paul Gray is an author, speaker, martial artist, and former professional fighter whose life has taken him around the world, into the ring, through profound failure, into federal prison, and ultimately into the difficult work of rebuilding.

While incarcerated, Daniel began writing The Men From the Medium. What started as an attempt to record an extraordinary period of his life became a story about the men the world locks up and often writes off — and the grace that reaches them anyway.

The book follows Daniel through some of the most difficult years of his life and the unlikely friendships that formed along the way. It is a story about failure and accountability, anger and forgiveness, faith and doubt, and the slow process of becoming a different man.

Today, Daniel speaks and writes about redemption, mental strength, resilience, and perseverance. His message is for people who have been counted out — and for anyone learning that being counted out does not have to be the end of the story.

He believes the fall does not define a man. What he does after it — and Who he walks with — does.
